Zenith Wire and Continuous Stamped Strip Cleaning System

Ultrasonic Cleaners for Wire and Strip MaterialsWire and strip cleaning represents one of the more difficult ultrasonic cleaning applications.  Contaminants typically include drawing lubricants which are pressed into the surface of the wire during the drawing process, or less difficult contamination such as liquid lubricants, dust, and manufacturing residue.  These contaminants can be very difficult to remove, and require ultrasonic wire cleaning equipment that is specifically tailored to this application.  Not only are the contaminants highly bonded to the surface, but the speed at which wire is typically manufactured poses additional difficulties for ultrasonic wire cleaners.

Zenith's SSW-840 Ultrasonic Wire Cleaner and Strip Cleaning System has been designed to address difficult wire cleaning applications.  The exclusive Zenith design includes the features necessary to clean, rinse, and dry wire at high speeds.  The wire cleaning system is typically positioned in-line, cleaning the wire or strip material as it is manufactured.  The standard SSW-840 wire washing system can achieve processing speeds as high as 500 feet per minute, while larger systems can easily exceed 1500 feet per minute (processing speed depends upon several factors).  Systems designed for cleaning of leadframe material, or other complex stamped strip application are designed to remove lubricants from under "hems" and other complex folds, producing an absolute zero-residue cleaning result when using deionized water in the rinse cycle.

Wire or strip material exits the manufacturing equipment, and enters the SSW-840 Wire Cleaner.  Material passes straight through, without re-direction, thereby eliminating bends or kinks in high tolerance materials.  Material is ultrasonically cleaned, ultrasonically rinsed, and dried continuously, in-line.

Standard equipment includes our patented CROSSFIRE Multiple Frequency Ultrasonic System, 316L stainless steel construction, Spray Under Submersion System for added cleaning effects, Ultrasonic Rinse Process, and more.  Optional equipment is also available, and includes features such as Automatic On-board Water Make-up Systems, On-board Deionization Systems for medical applications, Light Signal Tower, Filtration Systems, Waste Evaporators, pH control, and much more.

Before even considering an equipment sale, Zenith will first evaluate the cleaning application, performing any required testing, to ensure that the system delivered will meet or exceed the required cleanliness level.  This is the most important part of the process, since it provides a "blueprint" for the equipment that will be required to address the application.  Each application is truly unique, and must be addressed individually to ensure success.

If you have a wire cleaning application, contact Zenith Ultrasonics for additional information, and a free-of-charge evaluation of your application.   Our engineers will ensure that the system delivered will meet your every expectation.
