Zenith Manufacturing provides a number of ultrasonic cleaners which are perfectly suited to the cleaning of metal stampings.  Typically, these applications require the removal of stamping or cutting lubricants, oils, coolants, and metal fines.  In addition, many stamping firms produce these parts at very high volumes, which require a cleaning system that can keep up with the enormous amount of parts being produced in a single day.  Fortunately, Zenith provides systems for both lower volume applications, as well as high volume applications, and provides the technology required to produce absolute zero-residue cleaning results when required.

Most metal stamping applications will require a multi-stage ultrasonic cleaner which includes an ultrasonic cleaning tank, rinsing tanks to remove the detergents used in the cleaning tank, and drying tanks to dry the rinse water from the parts.  Zenith's MTC4 and MTC5 Multi-tank Ultrasonic Cleaners will provide all of the above stages, and can be retrofitted to include rust preventative applications for steel parts if required.  Our TRANSTAR Automation System, can fully automate the process to reduce manual labor requirements and increase throughput speed and process repeatability.

For those applications which require the ultrasonic cleaning of metal stampings in strip-form, our SSS-840 Ultrasonic Cleaners for Strip Material are the perfect choice.  Strip material exits the stamping press, and enter the SSS-840 Ultrasonic Cleaner, where the strip is cleaned, rinsed, and dried at high speed to remove all contamination to medical-device quality.  The strip is not re-directed in any way during the process which prevents product damage.  The ultrasonic cleaning action will remove contamination where spray washers can not reach, such as folded metal areas, and will not damage even the most sensitive strip configurations.  Upon exiting the system, the strip can be immediately coiled onto take-up spools.

For applications which require the ultra-high volume production, our VORTEX Centrifugal Ultrasonic Cleaner is an excellent choice.  This fully-automated metal stampings cleaner is a 4-stage system, composed of a CROSSFIRE Multiple Frequency Ultrasonic Cleaning Tank, dual cascade overflow rinse tanks, and a dryer tank.  Parts are placed onto the included 3-position Load Conveyor, a recipe of operation is selected from the Touchscreen Operator Interface, and the START button is depressed.  The MBT Automation System will move basket from tank-to-tank and deposit them onto a 3-position accumulating unload conveyor.

During the processing in each tank, centrifugal action is added to accomplish many objectives.  Firstly, the basket rotation in the ultrasonic cleaning tank serves to flush away the contaminants from the items being cleaned.  Prior to transferring the basket into the rinse tank, the basket is spun at high speeds to remove the detergents from the basket.  This prevents drag-out of the detergents into the rinse.  This high-speed rotation also removes rinse-water during the rinsing process prior to entering the drying tank, and is also used in the drying cycle to dry parts faster than any other system can.  Typically, a basket of parts is ejected every 5 minutes continuously.  No other system anywhere can clean as quickly as the VORTEX can.

Of course, all systems are available with our patented CROSSFIRE Multiple Frequency Ultrasonic System.  When you are ready to discuss your metal stamping application, contact Zenith and speak with one of our sales engineers.

Contact Information

Although this web site has been designed to provide you with a wealth of information, contact our sales department for additional information which may not be provided herein.  Our sales engineers will answer all of your questions, without obligation of any kind, and will prove that our equipment can clean your parts to expected levels BEFORE a dollar is spent.  There is so much involved in the ultrasonic cleaning process that even the most educated engineers may need direct assistance in determining which system design would be best for their parts washing application.  And, no web site can possibly address all of the possibilities.  Which frequency of ultrasonics would be best?  How about filtration?  How much ultrasonic power will be required?  What cleaning fluids will work best?  Side mounted ultrasonics, or bottom mounted?  Our engineers will be able to provide you with the answers to all of these questions for you, and will recommend the perfect degreaser for your application.
